  1. Feeling scared

Ever since I played a good time I’ve been feeling scared. I don’t want to play anymore and my coach is psycho. I don’t even have fun anymore. I love soccer but I want to have fun. I hate feeling pressure and I hate getting yelled at by parents after every match. I keep feeling fear.
  2. I've seen a really good futsal goalkeeper in one of the teams I've played against wearing under armor gloves that are used for American football. I've seen similar gloves at a sports store that are used for cycling or training and they're fingerless. I'm unsure if I should buy these gloves or not. Regular futsal gloves are too expensive and I've tried soccer gloves in futsal, but the ball just slips out of my hands and it doesn't have good grip and my throws aren't accurate with them. I don't want to get wrist injuries playing without gloves Does anyone else wear football gloves when playing futsal? Do they give you better grip and are they comfortable?
  3. I keep hearing about athleticism but I don't know what it means. I' just guessing that its someone who lacks athletic attributes. My goalkeeper coach likes to work on athleticism. The only problem is, I make good saves, but my movements are very awkward. My form is similar to a baboon. Wheneve I watch videos of myself goalkeeping, I cringe looking at how awkward and uncoordinated I am. I would like to improve my athleticism and form. My leg is slightly longer than the other, by a few centimeters (not noticeable), so I don' know if that has to do with athleticism.
  4. Hey Dudes

Hi. I am back on this forum again. My name is Sierra. I am 13 years old. I started goalkeeping 2 and a half years ago. I played professional futsal before. I am a goalkeeper on Woodbridge Strikers. A lot of peple say that I'm good at goalkeeping, but I think I'm alright. I'm really good at diving, and my reflexes are amazing. My weakness is goalkicks and shots that are high. I look forward to getting to know the other goalkeepers on this forum.
  5. That Team You Hate For No Apparent Reason

    1. PSG 2. Chelsea 3. Uruguay
  6. I'm stressed about school

Hey guys, I just started Grade 8 and I'm super stressed. My homework is confusing and I;m very busy with soccer and my family. I'm unable to focus in class. I have a science lab due but the instructions are so complicated and I don't know what to do. I'd love it if you guys could give me some advice.
  7. any tips on knee protection?

wear volley ball knee pads over your goalkeeping pads. I had a pair of goalkeeping pants with padding in them but I still had to wear kneepads over them since the padding from the pants doesnt protect your knees too well
  8. Hey I was just wondering what your pregame routine is. I don't really have a routine yet. I usually just lay in bed and watch T.V the whole day or listen to music a few hours before a game to get pumped up.
  9. I'm not gonna lie here. In a game I wish that the ground will swallow me up. I just can't stand being in goal. If a player makes a mistake, it's fine and no one realizes but if the keeper makes a mistake it could cost the game. When my team loses I feel guilty like it was my fault even if it wasn't. But the best feeling ever is getting a shutout or knowing that you saved the game.
  10. What do you do?

lol. Same. I start school again next week. But this summer break when I wasn't goalkeeping I was doing nothing. Just watching lots of porn and youtube. I just found this website a few weeks ago and thought it was cool. I should be more productive however.
  11. Best ground you've ever played at?

The best ground I've ever played at was the Esther Shiner Stadium in Canada for the Ontario Cup semi finals. Unfortunately we lost the game 0-2
  12. What got you into goalkeeping?

I used to be a striker but I was very bad. When my team started futsal I wasn't skillful. I lacked technique and I always lost the ball. Since I was a bad striker I decided to go in goal instead. Surprising, I was actually good so I just decided to be a goalkeeper instead.
  13. Your Strengths & Weaknesses

My strength is my catlike reflexes. I'm very fearless and I do whatever it takes to get the ball out of my box. My weaknesses are since I'm short I get chipped easily and I'm bad at kicking from the floor. My distribution could be better but it's something I'm working on.
