Fortunately, I have been gifted with height as I am 6 foot 6 inch at 16 years of age. This may make it easy for me to make a large proportion of the net but I cannot get into the bottom corners FAST. It just seems to be a slow dive that would only stop slow shots. Anyone know how I can tackle this problem or has anyone got any videos on it?
Thanks
Ash

Work on your leg muscles at the gym and literally just chuck yourself at it

Or play 5 a side in the low wide nets and I am sure you will improve.

Ruthless' idea is probably best for you. Make sure to build a strong lower body also.

after you posted this ive noticed when i watch the big keepers in the prem and lower leagues you big tall keepers cant hit the floor quick enough i dont understand how use cant because u have every a keeper needs for your height. but good luck on improving.
if i was you i would just dive on the floor with no shots going at you just lunch your self across the line thats what i would do . Im only 5'11 pushing the big 6 ft i still lunch my self across my line before every game and training session

Like been said train you leg muscles in the gym, and ask your goalkeeper trainer to pay extra attention to it at your training sessions.
Be sure to use all your power at the take-off when you dive to the lower corner.
At practise I train with a keeper with quite some heights. Your steps are big, so pay attention to your steps while going in the corner, if you do like 2 steps you probably already will be in the corner haha^^ So train on speed aswell!

Never underestimate your core muscles either, 5aside is good for improving at diving low but can be bad for overall technique or maybe thats just me

Nah, it's not just you, 5 a side requires far more improvisation than any other kind of football
I am often scared by my lack of fear.

My coach says I don't make myself big in ones on ones so much because 5aside doesnt call for it.

I agree with working the muscles.
A good way to think about getting low quickly - force your hand down to the ball. Think about leading with your hand. You will be able to move your hand/arm rapidly, and given your height you'll have good reach.

Work your muscles, and practice this a lot in training, fast low balls to your sides.

What you need is quad and calve muscle so that you can do an explosive dive from a lower set position. If you're tall you don't need to take many steps and on a good shot you won't have time to. If you look at tall GK they are practically just diving straight out from a set position from where the ST strikes the ball. There are many drills you can do to practice getting low quick.
